Ann Curry
Ann Curry has worked as an journalist for over nearly 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters as well as areas of war. Family members were constantly in and out of the country due to the service of her dad in the military. The family eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. She graduated in 1978 from in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. It is possible that her early encounter with cultures and experiences influenced the empathetic way she communicates about international concerns. She and her husband travelled to numerous locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Curry graduated with honors from Ashland High School. Her path to an impressive career when she started her broadcasting career as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first woman news reporter in the station's history at the age of 22. Then, she was an anchor/reporter for KGW located in Portland Oregon. Then, four years later she moved to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. In the course of the six years she worked for KCBS She was honored with 2 Emmy Awards.
